The A-2 zippered flight jacket with leather collar was introduced in 1931 to replace the buttoned A-1 for U.S. Army Air Corps pilots. The masterpiece of design was used throughout the period of World War 2. Eastman's A-2 is an authentic reproduction made of horsehide leather with cotton lining. Between World War 2 and the Korean War, the Jungle Cloth N-1 Deck Jacket was the uniform of the U.S. Navy ship's crew. The alpaca wool lining makes the jacket windproof and well insulated. The underarm vents, along with the wool, contribute to the optimal temperature balance. The design convinces with its simplicity and is still an excellent jacket for windy and cold conditions.
