This early 1950s piece features a striking "reverse color scheme" of orange and black, with the underarms darker than the body. In contrast, the embroidery—using monochrome threads reminiscent of ink painting—depicts an eagle spreading its wings, preparing to take flight from the waves. The ribbing is composed of black with yellow and white lines for a unified color scheme throughout.
The reversible side features a design called "Dragon Head," depicting the dragon's head in detail with a radially spreading mane that creates a sense of dynamism. The pale green dragon and colorful thunderclouds stand out against the wine-red satin fabric. The dragon and tiger on the chest are depicted in their entirety, with exquisitely balanced embroidery achievable only by a skilled craftsman.
