Hender Scheme

The Art of Patina

Ryo Kashiwazaki's Hender Scheme

We all love products that age well, and that philosophy truly embodies who we are. So Hender Scheme has a very special place in our heart. No other brand captures the love of living in a product as well as Ryo Kashiwazaki's label. As he himself said, he makes products not to be perfect, but to be perfected by the wearer.

Founded in eastern Tokyo's leather working district, the former philosophy student, set out to bend gender norms and to blur the line between handmade and industrialized.

MIP – Manual Industrial Production

Hender Scheme is known for their reproductions of iconic shoe silhouettes in vegetable tanned leather. Instead of chasing perfection, the items celebrate patina — the unique story each product tells as it evolves with its owner. We have taken our very own shoes to showcase the wear of time and the love put in by the wearers.
