A truly unique boot, the Boxer marries an orthopedic "Roofer" bumped work toe with a sleek sport version of the classic monkey boot lace-to-toe style. The shape—long, elegant, slender, and twisted—harks back to early 20th-century bootmaking, with the cocky bump toe designed to protect workers' toes, a detail originally found in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Northwestern bootmakers. Markus chose a rich dark brown cowhide vacchetta, bringing the boot together in a classy, refined package.
The boots are constructed using a dyed vacchetta cowhide, which is a vegetable-tanned leather valued for its natural surface, rich colour and ability to age with character. The dye penetrates the hide while preserving subtle variations, grain and occasional markings rather than creating a completely uniform finish. With use, exposure to light and contact with the hands, the leather gradually softens and develops a deeper, more individual patina. Each piece may therefore show slight differences in tone and texture, which are part of the material’s natural character rather than imperfections.
Fits true to size; recommend going 1/2 size up for optimal fit as tolerances are tight.

The boots will feel different: firmly locked in at the heel, tight under the arch, tilting weight toward the outside of the foot. Expect no break-in time or blisters—just immediate comfort that conforms to the foot over time. Aching from the hard footbed at the ball is normal but settles with wear.
