Whitesville was a brand owned for a short time by Montgomery Ward and had been one of the more popular sportswear brands, especially for T-shirts and varsity jackets, until the late 1950s. Eventually overshadowed by Champion, Hanes, and Russell, the brand closed down. Toyo (Sugar Cane, Buzz Rickson, Sun Surf, etc.) has since acquired the license and is reproducing these T-shirts with original art on the packaging and tags. This Whitesville standard pocket T-shirt is made of heavy jersey knitted with 14-count yarn. Sewing is done with two stitches on the shoulders, hem, and cuffs, and the body is tubular knit. The neck ribs are knitted with 14-count yarn and binder-attached for durability.
