The ultimate boro pattern now as shorts. Boro is an Edo-era mending technique done by gathering old indigo cotton cloth and patching it onto worn garments. Over time, repeatedly repairing with layers of sashiko stitching protected the wearer from harsh winter climates. These shorts show extensive signs of wear, with multiple layers of fabric of different thicknesses layered on top of each other to replicate this historic technique.
