Ba-Tic takes its name from the traditional batik process, where multicolored designs are created by using wax as a resist to over-dye in multiple colors. The fabric for the Ba-Tic Light pieces is a RFD (Ready For Dyeing) waxed broadcloth. The wax treatment, embedded in the seams, provides the resistance.
